Earl William Minton, Jr.

Earl William Minton, Jr., 73, of Laurelville, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at his residence.  He was born June 15, 1945 in McArthur, son of the late Earl William Sr. and Ivol Martin Minton. He was married to Debra K. “Debbie” Nye Minton, who survives.

He graduated from McArthur High School and was a disabled veteran of the United States Army and was a former member of the Whitehall VFW Post.  He retired from the United States Post Office in Westerville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Earl William (Julie) Minton III of Washington Court House, Darren (Kelly Johnson) Minton of Mt. Sterling; stepson, Tom (Sonja) Walker of Reynoldsburg; grandchildren, Andrew Minton, Rhys Minton and Gabe Walker; brother, Clarence Minton of West Jefferson; sister-in-law, Vera Minton of Groveport and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, John C. Walker; brothers, Delvin ‘Dutch” Minton and Delmer Minton and a sister, Lois Jean Tripp.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., with Rev. Danny Minton officiating.  Cremation will follow the services.  Friends may call Tuesday from 12PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in memory of Earl W. Minton Jr. be made to the Homeless Shelter Building Fund, C/O Chillicothe VA Medical Center, 17273 State Route 104, Chillicothe, OH 45601
