Edna M. Nickell, 98, of Hamden, went home to be her Lord and husband on Friday, March 24, 2023, at The Laurels of Athens. She was born May 28, 1924, in Oreton, Ohio. She was the widow of the late Chester Lee Nickell.

Edna was a member of Truth Church in Hamden. She worked as a bomb maker / inspector for National Fireworks Ordnance Corp in Londonderry during WWII. She also took great pride and joy in her flower gardens.

Edna is survived by her son, Keith (Laticia) Nickell of Hamden; grandchildren, Ryan Waldron, Rodney (Cindy) Waldron, and Shawn King; great grandchildren, Kayla, Brandon, and Jaiden.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Glenda Waldron.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Truth Church, 38050 State Route 683, Hamden, with Pastor Jim Eberts officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may visit 2 hours prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
