Elizabeth “Libby” Josephine Wemmer, 70, of Ray, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. She was born October 15, 1954, in Holden, West Virginia, daughter of the late Emmett and Christine Nunley Dalton. Libby was married for 47 years to John Lee Wemmer, who survives.  

Her children and grandchildren were her whole world, and she would do anything for them. Libby enjoyed sparkly jewelry, dancing, make up and a good sale at the store. 

Along with her husband John, she is survived by her children, Christina (Robert) Dean of Salem, West Virginia, Jonathan (Shelli) Wemmer of Ray, Brian (Lorein George) Wemmer of Allensville, Bradley (Chelsey) Wemmer of Londonderry and Brandy (Jestin Gross) Wemmer of Londonderry; grandchildren, Gabriell (Jesse), Cody (Kalista), Collin, Tristan, Blake, Nova, Dixie, Kade, Creed and Wendell; great grandchildren, Xavier, Annastasia and Paisley; aunt, Priscilla Jackson of Tennessee and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

In addition to her parents, Libby was preceded in death by her sister, Debra Browning and brother, Raymond Dalton. 

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2025, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur. Cremation will follow the visitation.
