Ernest "Ernie" Duane Allman Sr.

Ernest Duane “Ernie” Allman Sr., 74, of Creola, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan.  He was born September 8, 1944 in Vinton County, son of the late Elmer W. Allman and Lucille Peters Reiter.  Ernie was married for 15 years to Nancy E. Fee Allman, who survives.

He retired after 42 years of service from Austin Powder Company where he was the Plant Manager, was a member of Delta Lodge #207 F&AM in McArthur and was also a member of the F.O.E. #2279 in McArthur.

Ernie is survived by his sons, Ernest Duane “Chip” (Shannon) Allman Jr. of Chillicothe and Todd Andrew (Kelly) Allman of Pratsville; stepson, Kevin Harkins of Columbus; grandchildren, Chase, Tanner, Ashton, Madison, Taylor and Brooke; great grandson, Gabriel; brother, John Reiter of McArthur; sister, Gladys Matuch of Barberton and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roger Reiter and Rodney Allman.

Ernie’s wishes were to be cremated.  A memorial service will be held 12 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2019 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
