Ethel L. Gussler, 73, of McArthur, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. She was born February 26, 1946 in Pikeville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Lora and Elsie Truley Collins Coleman. Ethel was the widow of the late Jackie “Jack” Ernest Gussler Sr.
She was a former school bus driver for Vinton County Schools, a dispatcher for the Vinton County Sheriff’s Department and was currently a Home Health Aide. Ethel was a member of the F.O.E. #2279 in McArthur and the McArthur VFW Post #5299.
She is survived by her sons, Jackie “Bub” (Melissa) Gussler Jr. and Jarrod (Debbie) Gussler, both of Dundas; daughters, Candy (Scott) Barnett of Allensville and Tracey (Mark) Sowers of Jackson; fourteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren, including a special great grandson, Peyton Ousley; brothers, Jake (Connie) Coleman of Cincinnati and Tony (Brenda) Coleman of McArthur; sisters, Betty Coleman of Columbus, Deloris Rudolph of Pickerington and Jettie (Mike) Robinson of South Carolina; special friend, Carolyn McManis and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ethel was preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Barnett; granddaughter, Reghan Sowers; son-in-law, Dallas Ousley Jr.; brothers, Calvin, Bernis and Paul Coleman and sisters, Mary Lou White and Jennifer Malone.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Caudill’s Banquet Room, 35887 State Route 324, Dundas, with Pastor David Peoples officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 4 p.m.
