Floyd W. McGrath, 79, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born May 14, 1942, in Carbon Hill, Ohio, son of the late Weldon Harry McGrath and Genevieve Eileen Stedman McGrath Smith. Floyd was married to Betty J. Murphy McGrath, who survives.
He was a retired insurance agent and a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. Floyd was a member of the Lancaster Moose Lodge, Eagles, American Legion and was a life member of the Logan AMVETS.
He is survived by his son, Darren Floyd (Sarah) McGrath of Lancaster; stepdaughter, Sherry Lynn (Chuck) VanCuren of South Carolina; several step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; brother, Terry (Ruth Ann) McGrath of Logan and a stepbrother, Richard (Barb) Smith of Florida.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Michael Martin officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
