Frederick A. Cosner, Jr.

Frederick A. Cosner, Jr., 83, of Nelsonville, passed away at his home on Friday, September 17, 2021.  He was born March 25, 1938, in Thomas, West Virginia, son of the late Frederick A. and Georgia Nelson Cosner.  Fred was married to the late Barbara Celaya Cosner.

Fred was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War.  He retired from Goodyear.  He was a lifetime member of the Nelsonville VFW Post 3467.  He was also a member of the Masons and Shriners.

Fred is survived by his daughter, Lorelei Cosner of Texas; son, Peter (Virginia) Celaya of The Plains; grandchildren, Leta Cosner, Ian Cosner, Andrew (Jess Abt) Jones, Whitney (Mahlon) Jensen, Shaun (Brandi) Jones, Christopher Celaya, Gage Tinlin, and Ty Tinlin; and brothers, Robert Cosner and Buddy Edward (Roxanne) Cosner.

In addition to his wife and parents, Fred was preceded in death by daughter, Michelle Tinlin; son, Steven Celaya; and sisters, Mary Alice Hipp and Barbara Ruth Summerfield.

A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville.  Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
