Gearld Lee Hart

Gearld Lee Hart, 75, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Maple Hills Nursing Home in McArthur.  He was born April 16, 1942 in Vinton County, son of the late Homer Ray and Goldie Kinney Hart.  Gearld was married to the late Helen L. Perry Hart.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator and was a member of the McArthur Eagles AERIE #2279, Delta Masonic Lodge #207 F & AM in McArthur, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and Aladdin Temple Shine.

Gearld is survived by his daughter, Cathy Hart of Athens and sister, Betty Bishop of Meigs County.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Michele Hart and Becky Hart; one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, August 5, 2017 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jeff Perry officiating.  Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Gearld Hart to the Michele L. Hart Memorial Fund, c/o Foundation of Appalachian Ohio, 35 Public Square, Nelsonville, Ohio 45764.
