George Saines, 90, of Shohola, Pennsylvania and Logan, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan. He was born December 4, 1929 in Kane, Pennsylvania, son of the late Steven and Helen Liangas Saines. George was the widow of the late Helen Renwick Saines.
He owned and operated Lubricant Packaging and Supply Company in Middletown, New York and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. George was the founding member of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Middletown, New York.
He is survived by his son, Steven J. (Sherri Babcock) Saines of Logan; daughter, Jennifer Ann (William) Pinch of Middletown, Connecticut and Penelope (Ira Bickoff) Saines of New Paltz, New York; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, George was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Mead and brothers, James and Gus Saines.
Services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2020 in the First Presbyterian Church, 2 W. Hunter St., Logan, Ohio 43138 and 11 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2020 in Wallkill Cemetery, Middletown, New York.
