Geraldine Francis, 97, of Chillicothe, formerly of McArthur passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Pickaway Manor Nursing Home in Circleville. She was born August 21, 1926, in Pikeville, Kentucky, daughter of the late George Washington and Winnie Virginia Davis May. Geraldine was the widow of the late Cecil Francis Jr.
She was a former hairdresser, worked for General Motors, and during WWII, Geraldine worked in an airplane factory in The Great Lakes. She also assisted her husband with the operation of their service station and was a member of SERENO Chapter #128 OES in McArthur.
She is survived by her daughters, Winnetta (Ronald) Harris of Chillicothe and Sherry L. (Mike) Bowser of Nashville, Tennessee; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
In addition to Geraldine’s parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Dean Queen officiating. Burial will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11 am to 1 pm at the funeral home.
