Glenda Rose Nihiser, 87, of Logan, passed away at her home on Friday, February 23, 2024. She was born on August 11, 1936, in Logan, the daughter of the late Esther (Six) Wilson and Bill Leasure. She was the widow of the late Robert E. Nihiser.
Glenda retired after many years as nursing supervisor at Hocking Valley Community Hospital. She was a member of Bremen Holiness Church.
Glenda is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Larry) Klingler of Logan and Amy (Tony) Bower of Sugar Grove; grandchildren, Jason (Becky) Huffines, Alisa (Jared) Strickland, Brent (Kattie) Huffines, Troy (Kimberly) Collinsworth, Josh (Amanda) Nihiser, Mandy (Joey) Kirk, Aaron Bower, Tara (Kyle) Cordray, and Kyle Bower; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild on the way; brother, Lonnie (Vicki) Wilson of Rockbridge; sisters, Norma Rooker of Logan and Lori (Jack) Klump of Logan; son-in-law, Dick Huffines; and special caregivers, Lacey Wilson and Gail Vanderpool.
Glenda was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Esther and Warren Wilson; father, Bill Leasure; son, Robert Troy Nihiser; daughter, Vicki Leann Huffines; brothers, Tubby Wilson and Denny Wilson; sisters, Nellie Miller, Eva Eaton, Shirley Butler, Sharon Carter, and Ruth Sinnott; daughter-in-law, Sheila Cooperrider; and special family members, Aunt Louise and Mom Six.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Pastor Roger Hatfield and Rev. Mike Wetherald officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
