Grady DeWitt “Skip” Sholar, 72, of Nelsonville, entered the arms of Jesus Thursday, June 18, 2020. He was born February 14, 1948, in Miami, Florida, son of the late Willard and Mary Hollingsworth Sholar. Skip was married to Stacie Slassmire Sholar, who survives.
He was a master Mason and a United States Marine Corps Vietnam War Veteran. Skip was a member of the Voice of Faith Temple in Logan. He loved to hunt, fish, shoot guns and was devoted to his family and friends. Skip will forever live in his family’s hearts and though he may be gone, he will never be forgotten.
Along with his wife, Skip is survived by his son, Jake (Stephanie) Glassmire of Zanesville; daughters, Mimi (Rick) Jenson of Miami, Florida, Nila Sholar of Nelsonville and Shara (Sean Moore) Sholar of Columbus; grandchildren, Anthony, Jonathan, William DeWit and Adam Joel; great grandchild, Jon Jon; brothers, Larry and James Sholar, both of Florida and his mother-in-law, Nancy Glassmire of Zanesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and one brother.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m., Sunday, June 21, 2020, at the Voice of Faith Temple on Walnut Dowler Rd., Logan. No calling hours will be observed.
Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
