Guy W. Waldron

Guy W. Waldron, 74, of McArthur, passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at his residence.  He was born August 20, 1944 in McArthur, son of the late Emmitt L. “John” and Carolyn Gilliland Waldron.  Guy was married to the late Joyce J. Tripp Waldron.

He was a retired operating engineer and an Army Veteran.  Guy was a member of the First Christian Church in McArthur, the McArthur VFW Post #5299, the American Legion, a former member of the Wellston Lions Club and was also a member of operating engineers local #18 of Ohio.

Guy is survived by his children, Monica Griffey of St. Augustine, Florida, Matt (Rita) Acker of Galena and Jacquie (John) Van Osdol of Goshen, Ohio; grandchildren, Brandon (Amanda) Griffey, Destiny Moore, Kayleigh (Adam) Shepherd, Austin Acker, Jamie Van Osdol and Merry Van Osdol; great grandchildren, HeavenLee Hope Van Buren, Clarrisa Van Buren, Jacob Griffey and Emery Shepherd; companion, Janice Smith of McArthur; sisters, Frances (Phillip) Amorose of Westerville and Marjorie Otworth of Portsmouth and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Waldron; brother, Emmitt “Puz” Waldron and sister, June Gleason.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in Elk Cemetery, McArthur with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating.  Military graveside services will be conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299.  Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Monday, from 4-8 p.m.
