Harrison Runyon

Harrison Runyon, 85, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2024. He was born June 22, 1939, in Wayne County, WV, the son of the late Nick and Della (Adkins) Runyon.

Harrison was a logger all his life and sawmill owner / operator. He dedicated himself to the Old Regular Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara (Dearing) Runyon; brothers; David (Anges), Jerry (Vickie), and Donald (Pam) Runyon, sister; Garnet Sue (George) Colvin, children; James (Teresa) Runyon and Stephanie (Glenn) Chaffin; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Benjamin) Carpenter, Kayla (Nicholas) Leppert, Nicholas Runyon, Hanna Chaffin, Jacob Chaffin, and Adam Runyon; great-grandchildren, Maxx and Cole Leppert, Owen Runyon, and James and Lucas Carpenter. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers; Albert “Junior” Runyon and Dan Runyon and sisters; Ida Louise Garner and Juanita Runyon.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Maggie's Home Church in Dundas, Ohio with Elder Don Mullins, Elder Buster Hall, Elder Danny Prater, and Elder Paul Coleman officiating. Burial will follow the service at Marcum Memorial Cemetery in Wilkesville, Ohio. Visitation will be at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville, Ohio, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and at Maggie's Home Church, Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. with night services.
