Hazel Irene Ward

Hazel Irene Ward, 96, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Jenkins Care Community in Wellston.  She was born May 21, 1925, in Vinton County, daughter of the late Lawrence and Rachel Carpenter Donahoe.  Irene was the widow of the late Walter Duane Ward.

She was a member of Cornelius Chapel Christian Church in Creola.

Irene is survived by her son, Michael K. (Eunice D.) Ward of Jackson; grandchildren, Michael Blane (Shelly) Ward of Delaware, Ohio, Chad C. (Janet) Ward of Charleston, South Carolina, Kimberly D. (Zane) Bergant of Jackson and Natalie I. (Evan) Bear of Jackson; ten great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren and brother, Robert Donahoe of McArthur.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wendell Donahoe and sisters, Donna Morrison, Paulette Phillips, Dorothy Faye Donahoe and Mary Alice Donahoe.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jerry Griffith Jr. officiating.  Private burial will be held in Elk Cemetery, McArthur.  Friends may call at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
