Helen W. Pierce, 82, of Hamden, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 27, 2017. She was born August 3, 1935 in McArthur, daughter of the late James and Eula Ward Waldron. Helen was the widow of the late Rev. Kenneth Pierce.
She was a retired cook for Vinton County Schools, a member of the McArthur Church of The Nazarene and attended Calvary Assembly of God in McArthur.
Helen is survived by her son, Kenny (Kathy) Pierce of New Straitsville; daughter, Debra Perry of Hamden; grandchildren, Jeremy (Katie) Perry of McArthur, Jessica (Matt Evans) Perry Walker of McArthur, Kenneth Wayne (Kay Ansel) Pierce of New Straitsville, Sheri (Rich) Hoy of Shawnee and James Albert (Cytha Nicole) Pierce of New Straitsville; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; sister, Alyce Seitz of McArthur; aunt, Nancy Waldron of McArthur and sister-in-law, Freda Castor of Hamden.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Pierce; granddaughter, Melissa Pierce; special son-in-law, Steven Perry and brothers, James and Lewis Waldron.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the McArthur Church of The Nazarene, 523 N. Market St., McArthur, with Pastor Carl Radcliff and Pastor William Roth officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
