Hershel Raymond Snider

Hershel Raymond Snider, 72, of Murray City, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at his residence.  He was born March 15, 1945, son of the late Charles Kenneth and Opal Hemrick Snider. He was married to Shirley Cunningham Snider who survives, for 53 years.

He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.  Hershel was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Hershel Snider Jr. of Murray City and Matthew (Christina) Snider of Glouster; daughters, Shirley (Terry) Cox of Murray City and Martha (Rickie) Deeter of Buchtel; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Snider and two brothers, Lee Snider and Jerry Snider.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 2, 2017 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pator Dean Snider officiating. Interment will be at Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel where military rites will be conducted by members of the United States Army Honor Guard.  Friends and family may call from 4-8 PM, Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the funeral home.
