Homer G. Mourn Jr., 83, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday August 8, 2017 at his residence. He was born January 23, 1934 in Athens County, Ohio, son of the late Homer G. and Estella Travis Mourn Sr.
Homer was an Army Veteran. He was a retired Machine Operator for Columbus Coated Fabric Co. after more than 33 years of service. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by long-time companion, Bonnie Berry of the residence; daughter, Erma Jean Bishop of Pataskala; grandson, John W. (Renae) Mourn of Nelsonville; great-grandchildren, Jade, John, Ashton and Madi; great great-grandchildren, Hayden and Mariah; sister, Harriet Grim of McArthur; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John W. Mourn; sisters, Ruth Smith, Mary Riley, Betty Lowery and Frances Riley.
Homer’s wishes were to be cremated and no services will be observed. Arrangements are by the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
