James Burley Beal

James Burley Beal, 69, of Nelsonville, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at his residence.  He was born June 2, 1948, son of Luella Minerd Beal of Nelsonville and the late Burley Beal.  He was married to Jeannette Walters Beal, who survives, for 26 years.

Jim was retired from Ohio Health O’Bleness Hospital, where he worked for 34 years. He was a veteran of the US Army and a past member of the Athens Elks Lodge.

In addition to his wife, Jeannette, he is survived by a son, Kevin (Jackie) Beal of Pleasantville; daughters, Sherry Beal of Columbus, Tanaiah (Brad) Hawk of New Marshfield and Jayla Beal of Wauseon; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Elaine) Beal of Centerburg and a sister, Linda Fetty of Florida.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev Karen Walters officiating.  Friends may call Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society Region Office HCKG, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, Ohio 43017 or to Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home to help defray service expenses.
