James Richard Crawford

James Richard Crawford, 62, of Logan, passed away at home on Saturday, October 14, 2023. He was born October 17, 1960, in Lancaster, the son of the late Richard and Ruth (Dittoe) Crawford. He was married to Wendy (Wilhelm) Crawford who survives.

James served in the United States Air Force. He worked at Ohio University in the Office of Information Technology.

James, Jim or Jimmy was known and loved by many. He had a passion for motorcycles and for live radio broadcast in his Air Force days. He had a heart of gold and enjoyed transforming during the holiday season into Santa alongside his Mrs. bringing much joy to his community. He lived life in full throttle with an open adventurous road and a quest to experience new things. He was a dedicated family man who loved his family endlessly.

James is survived by his wife, Wendy; son, Tyler Crawford of Hilliard; daughter, Taylor Crawford of Logan; stepdaughters, Jessica Snyder and Katelynn Snyder both of Logan; grandchildren, McKenzie, Tristin, and Stephen; and sisters, Janice Spencer of Lancaster and Joan (Angelo) Rodriguez of Texas.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Stine.

Family and friends may visit from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan. Interment will be at a later date in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster.

The family suggests donations in memory of James be made to the US Department of Veterans Affairs or Fairhope Hospice and Palliative Care.
