James "Kool Or Jimmy" Davis

James “Kool or Jimmy” Davis, 68, of Nelsonville, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at his home.  He was born October 7, 1955, in Nelsonville, the son of the late Reese L. and Geraldine (Nelson-Rutter) Davis. He was married for 46 years to Sheryl (Martin) Davis who survives.

Jimmy worked for 40 + years in the Auto Service Industry.  He was a member of the Nelsonville Elks Lodge 543 and the Nelsonville VFW Post 3467.  He was also an avid bowler.  Jimmy will be greatly missed.

Jimmy is survived by his wife; children, Betsy (Mark) Hall of Nelsonville, Lori (Floyd Phillips) Davis of Nelsonville, Jane (Shane) Shreve of Zanesville, and James “J.D.” (Becca Campbell) Davis II of Murray City; grandchildren, Michael, Karlee and Carson, Ethan and Alexis, Loralye and Chase, Kyle, Slade, Skye, and Jase; great grandchildren, Lilliann and Cole; sisters, Janice Williams and Kathy Jones; special aunt, Jennie Mae Altier; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger L. Davis.

Family and friends may visit from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
