James Anthony Garavuso

James Anthony Garavuso, 86, of Logan, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at his residence.  He was born April 26, 1932 in Queens, New York, son of the late Joseph Garavuso and Carmela Maffei Garavuso Picucci.  James was married for 62 years to Helen Stenson Garavuso, who survives.

He retired as the Director of Distribution for Morse Shoe Corporation and was a Korean Conflict Veteran of the United States Army.  James was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Brentwood, New York, a graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor of science degree in Industrial Engineering and a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

James is survived by his sons, James Theodore (Wendy) Garavuso and Steven Anthony (Dawn) Garavuso, both of Pataskala; daughter, Lori Ann (Brett) Goldsmith of Blairstown, New Jersey; grandchildren, Arianna Garavuso, Nicholas Garavuso and Amanda Goldsmith; nephews, Joseph and Frankie Garavuso; sister-in-law, Elaine Garavuso and former daughter-in-law, Kimberly Garavuso.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Garavuso.

The family will announce a celebration of life service at a later date.  Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
