James T. Larimer

James T. Larimer, 83, of Logan, passed away Wednesday May 2, 2018 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital. He was born October 27, 1934 in Logan, Ohio, son of the late Carl Wayne and Rosella Miller Larimer.

He retired from CSX Railway after 42 years of service. Member of St. John Catholic Church in Logan. He was a member of Mingo Lodge #171, F&AM; member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus; Logan Chapter #75, Royal Arch Masons; Logan Commandry #78, Knights Templar; Hock-Hocking Council #39, Royal & Select Masons; Aladdin Temple Shrine; member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, in both Logan and Buckeye Lake and member of Logan Moose Lodge.

James is survived by a son, Tom Larimer of Logan; daughter Jamie L. (David) Birkmeyer of Houston, Ohio; grandchildren, Lauren and Thomas Birkmeyer; sister, Shirley Fink of Nelsonville; former wife and mother to his children, Pauline Larimer of Logan.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter in law, Cindy Larimer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday May 9, 2018 at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan with Fr. William Ferguson officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “James Larimer Trust” at Citizens Bank, 188 W. Main St., Logan or any Citizens Bank location. This is for the benefit of his grandchildren’s education.
