James "Puz" Emmett Waldron

James Emmett “Puz” Waldron, 85, of Londonderry, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.  He was born February 5, 1932 in Vinton County, son of the late John and Carolyn Gilliland Waldron.  Puz was married to Joanne McWhorter Brown-Waldron, who survives.

He retired from the state of Ohio Department of Transportation and was a former dairy farmer.  Puz was a Korean Army Veteran, a member of the First Christian Church in McArthur and also attended Kingston Community Church in Kingston.  He was a Gideon and a member of the American Legion.

Puz is survived by his son, Matt (Sue) Waldron of Hilliard; daughters, Carolyn (Lee) Crabtree of Chillicothe and Edyie (Brian) Slone of Greenup, Kentucky; stepdaughters, Becky (Greg) Gilkerson of Columbus and Lisa Myers of Greenville, Kentucky; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Guy Waldron of McArthur and sisters, Frances (Phil) Amarose of Westerville and Marjorie Otworth of Portsmouth.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ival Graves Waldron; sister, June Gleason; son-in-law, Matthew Lowery and stepson, Matthew Brown.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2018 in the First Christian Church, 207 E. High St., McArthur, with Rev. John Nunley officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, McArthur, with military graveside services being conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299.  Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Thursday, from 5-8 p.m. and on Friday, one hour prior to the services at the church.
