Jan Alan Hartman

September 5, 1958 — October 29, 2021

Jan Alan Hartman, 63, of Logan, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus.  He was born September 5, 1958, in Nelsonville, Ohio, son of Pauline Robinette Hartman of Logan and the late Merle “Peasel” Hartman.

He retired from Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville and formerly taught Police Science at Hocking College and Tri County Vocational School. Jan was an investigator for the State of Ohio, a former Logan Police Officer, a former volunteer firefighter for the City of Logan and was a member of the Logan Moose Lodge and Logan Amvets.

Jan is survived by his sons, Jan Ryan Hartman and JC (Ashley) Mojzer, both of Logan; grandson, Coen Hartman of Logan; brothers, Mike Hartman of Logan, Don (Curt Gage) Hartman of Riverview, Florida and Kelly Hartman of Logan; sisters, Pamela (Tom) Cornn of Athens, Dianne Patterson of Alliance, Ohio and Beth (Jim) Cooke of Lancaster and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 6935 Township Rd 234, Logan, Ohio 43138, with Rev. Steve Hubbard officiating.  Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
