Jeffery Lee Baden

July 10, 1956 — June 3, 2020

Jeff Baden, 63, of Longstreth, passed away on Wednesday morning, June 3, 2020, after a short and intense battle with brain cancer. He was born on July 10, 1956 in Bowling Green, Ohio, to the late Fred Baden and Mary Boley, who survives him.

Jeff graduated from Nelsonville York High School in 1974, and later that year, on October 18th, he married his high school sweetheart, Cathy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served/trained in Sumter, South Carolina.  Jeff went on to teach at Tri-County Vocational School, specializing in auto mechanics, and at Hocking College in the prison system.  He received the National Teachers Award from Mitchel in recognition of his outstanding achievement. A local business owner and a member of the Carbonhill Water Board, he was a man of strong principles and integrity, and he enjoyed the simple pleasures of woodworking, riding a motorcycle, reading, good jokes and TikTok videos, and writing poetry.

In addition to his wife of forty-six years and his mother, Jeff is also survived by his son, Jeffery, his three brothers, Fred (Anita), Tim (Judy), and Tom (Robin) Baden, and his nieces and nephews.  Due to the current health situation, the family will have a private service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to Hospice of Central Ohio .

Arrangements are by Souers Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
