Jeffrey L. Holley

Jeffrey L. Holley, 63, of New Plymouth, died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at his home. Born in Nelsonville on February 3, 1960, to Garland and Fern (nee Stump) Holley.

He graduated from Vinton County High School and took classes at Hocking Technical College. He worked as an associate of Kroger grocery. His family remembers him as being thoughtful, helpful, and, as one nephew described him, “philosophically quiet.” He was a voracious reader and absolutely loved to cook, sometimes coming up with some “interesting” variations of common dishes. He provided us with some funny stories, like when he got caught on our neighbor’s electric fence. It was a hair-raising experience, he said. His proudest accomplishments were his sons, and he would want to be remembered as being devoted to his family and just a good guy. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (nee Wollett); his children, Andrew, Brian, and Caillou; and his sister, Angela Nilsen. He was predeceased by, along with his parents, brothers, Larry, Danny, Rodney, and Randy; and sisters, Evelyn Sheets and Judy Brooks.

A funeral service is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
