Jerry Lee Nickels

Jerry Lee Nickels, 79, of Canal Winchester, formerly of McArthur, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021.   He was born September 21, 1941, in Ray, Ohio, son of the late Harvey and Helen (Bevard) Nickels.  Jerry was married for 57 years to his beloved wife, Roma Kay Swaim Nickels, who survives.

He graduated from McArthur High School in 1959. He served in the United States Army in Germany and worked at the United States Post Office in McArthur for 46 years. He was a member of the McArthur Christian Church Disciples of Christ. He enjoyed playing golf, watching Ohio State sports and family vacations.

Jerry is survived by his daughter Audra (Louis) DiOrio and his granddaughter Isabella DiOrio of Canal Winchester, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Brent L. Nickels.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2021, in the First Christian Church, 207 E. High St., McArthur, with Elder Chuck Fri officiating.  Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur.  Friends may call on Tuesday, from 12 p.m. until the time of the service, at the church.
