Jessie Marie Campbell

Jessie Marie (Davis) Campbell, age 86, went home to be with her Lord and loved ones on November 22, 2023, surrounded by love at the Inn at Sharon Brooke, Newark, Ohio. Jessie was born September 3, 1937, in Nelsonville, Ohio as one of ten children to David W. and Mildred Mae (Buck) Davis.

She was a graduate of Nelsonville High School and known for her faith and profound love of God; a life centered on home, her husband, daughter & "son"; love of family, friends, music, and pets - and her big, big hugs. Jessie married her beloved James Denver (Denny) Campbell in October 1956 and had one daughter, Lisha (Campbell) Baker. She was employed by Sylvania in Buchtel, Ohio in her early married life and later was a devoted wife, mom, and homemaker.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her loving sisters Ruby Hayden and Mable Potter, and brothers Paul, Ralph, Hubert Lee, David, Clarence, and Charles Davis. She was also preceded in death by her precious "mother" Mildred Campbell and sister in-law Zoeta Lanning.

She is survived by one daughter and "son" Lisha & Roger Baker of Buckeye Lake, Ohio; beloved brother Dean (Carol) Davis of Los Alamos, California; dear brothers and sisters-in-law, Rudy & Shirley Campbell and Chuck & T Campbell; loving nieces and nephews including Toni, Cindy, Tina, Pam, Kathy, JD and many other special nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren; her "adopted kids" Ann Marie (Annie) and Alex; special friends, Betty Jo Parsley and the John & Sandy King family; and several caring, watchful neighbors and their families.

A private graveside memorial service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville, Ohio on Thursday, November 30, at 1pm with Pastor Ann Marie Carley officiating. Arrangements by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
