Jimmy Ronald Clifford Gillespie Sr., 71, of Logan, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. He was born April 6, 1946 in Columbus, son of the late Harrison and Mary Hamner Gillespie. Ron was married to Laura Berry Gillespie, who survives.
He was the co-owner of Gillespie’s Auto Service and attended Ebenezer Baptist Church in Maxville.
Ron is survived by his son, Dave (Heather) Gillespie and Daniel Gillespie, both of Logan; daughters, Jean Anne (John) Rogers of Logan, Donna (Jeff) Leasure of Sarahsville, Ohio and Vicki (Tom) Rooker of Logan; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; brothers, Harold Gillespie of Logan, Dairl Gillespie of Grove City, Charles Gillespie of Logan, Larry Gillespie of Logan and Dale Gillespie of Logan and sisters, Ellalee Jackson of Logan and Deanne Roush of Logan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Ronald Clifford Gillespie Jr. and brothers, Lawrence and Carroll Gillespie.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Maxville, with Pastor Steve Hubbard officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
