John Edward Lawhorn

John Edward Lawhorn, 64, of Nelsonville, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 28, 2022.  John was born April 16, 1958, in Barberton, Ohio, the son of the late Junior Basil and Rose Mary (Elliott) Lawhorn.

John worked for many years as a carpenter.  He enjoyed fishing and Harleys.  He could fix anything and always enjoyed helping other people.  John’s greatest pride and joy was his granddaughter and he thoroughly enjoyed treating her like a princess.

John is survived by his daughter, Alicia (John) Lawhorn Woofter of Doanville; granddaughter, Bella Lawhorn; wife, Martie Lawhorn; sisters, Patti Whitehead and Peggy McGraw; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Lawhorn.

The family will hold a celebration of John’s life service at a later date.  Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
