John L. Mace Sr.

John L. Mace Sr., 62, of Nelsonville, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.  John was born January 1, 1961, in Nelsonville, the son of the late Lloyd R. and Pearl M. (Stover) Mace. He was married to Ruby Mae (Coey) Mace who survives.

John was a member of the Athens American Legion Post 21.  He and Ruby attended Faith Tabernacle in Nelsonville.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his sons, John Mace Jr. of Lancaster and Matthew Mace of The Plains; sister, Bonnie Mace; sister-in-law, Brenda Mace; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents; twin sons, Richard and Benjamin; and brother, Steve Mace Sr.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, in Athens Memory Gardens, 7360 Cameron Rd, Athens.  Arrangements are by the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
