John Anthony Phillips

John Anthony Phillips, 46, of Athens, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021, at his residence.  He was born May 22, 1975, in Hocking County, son of Gary Wayne and Diana Welch Phillips of Athens.

He was a former cement worker.

John is survived by his sons, Brandon McCune of Nelsonville and Jace Phillips of Pomeroy; daughters, Ivy Webster of Jackson, Abbey Russell of Millfield, Kyler Phillips of Pomeroy and Ava Phillips of Pomeroy; grandchildren, Abigale, Madison, Braxton and Hunter; brother, Gary Wayne (Hollie) Phillips Jr. of Chauncey; sister, Connie Monroe of Nelsonville and grandmother, Alberta Stanley of The Plains.

He was preceded in death by his son, Corbin Michael Phillips and grandparents, Thomas Welch, Ruth Evelyn Welch and John Edward Phillips.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral home, 46, Fayette St., Nelsonville.
