Joseph Paul Brown

Joseph Paul Brown, 63, of Athens, formerly of McArthur, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020, at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital in Athens.  He was born May 27, 1957, in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Charley Foster and Louise Ellen Patterson Brown.  Joe was married to Barbara Brown, who survives.

He was a retired coal miner and formerly worked for Worthington City Schools.  Joe was an avid deer hunter, a member of the McArthur Eagles and a member of the Ohio Big Buck Club.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Marie (Tobi) Ruckel of West Virginia; son, Jeromy (Tiffanie) Brown of Albany; grandchildren, Zoe, Nevea, Madelyne, Alyssa, Jenna, Charles, Jerimy, Joseph, Evan, Landon and Devon; brother, Charley (Roxann) Brown of Allensville; sisters, Toni (Carl) Williams of McArthur and Helen (Carl) Jones of Wellston; several nieces and nephews; stepmother, Mary Brown of Allensville; stepbrother, Johnny (Melody) Peoples of McArthur and stepsisters, Shirley (Dan) Shifflett of Lancaster, Charlotte (Larry) Hoffmaster of Columbus and Lori Evans of McArthur.

Cremation has taken place.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.  in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
