Joseph Oakie Owens Jr., 55, of Hamden, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 2, 2023. He was born on May 27, 1967, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Brenda Sue (Murphy) Martin and Joseph Oakie Owens Sr.

Joseph is survived by his brother, Creighton (Patricia) Owens of Kingston; sister-in-law, Beatrice Waugh of Jackson; and nephews, Trevor Waugh, Isaiah Owens, and Bryce Owens.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Tracy Owens; and grandparents, Florence and Jerry Dixon.

No funeral services will be held. Arrangements are through the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
