Josephine I. Summers, 94, of Logan, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus. She was born on November 4, 1930, in Logan, the daughter of the late George and Florence (Jones) Summers.
Josephine was a kind and gentle soul. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed being a mentor to many young folks. Josephine was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Josephine is survived by her daughters, Pamela Riley of Columbus and Dee (Lloyd Wallace) Riley of Logan; son, David Riley of Columbus; grandchildren, Alicia Cassells, Sagan Wallace, Anaisa Wallace, Samantha Riley, and Danielle (Charles) Stevens-Viol; great grandchildren, Natasha Phillips, Taya Phillips, Quest Cassells, Sol Cassells, Amanda Pacheco, Kayleb Riley, and Malcolm Wimbs; great great grandchild, Destin McIntyre; son-in-law, Richard Stevens; and special extended family, Shirley Rivera, Rosette Middleton, and Diana Choe.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kevin Riley; daughter, Patricia “Teresa” Stevens; granddaughters, Bridgett Riley and Kimyko Riley; 5 sisters; and 6 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan with Kendall Wahl, Elder, officiating . Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Family and friends may visit from 4 to 6 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
