Josephine Wilson White, 81, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at her residence. She was born May 10, 1937 in Highland County, Ohio, daughter of the late Dennis and Nellie Wilson Cluff. Josephine was the widow of the late Charles White.
She was a former secretary for the Vinton County Prosecutor, waitress and worked for Alliance Data Systems. Josephine was a member of the Vinton County Senior Citizens, a former member of the McArthur Church of the Nazarene and attended various Baptist churches. She enjoyed baking, playing bingo and making clothing for 3 rd world countries.
Josephine is survived by her sons, Charles Richard White of Allensville, Daniel Clayton (Mary) White of McArthur and Mark Allen (Mary) White of Creola; daughters, Linda (James) White of Albany, Bonny (Lyndell) Durr of Columbus, Marilyn (Daniel) Downing of Lexington, North Carolina, April Joy White of Chillicothe and Rebecca Jo (William Castle) White of Creola; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Marie Betts of McArthur and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Allen Cluff Jr.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with her son-in-law, Pastor Lyndell Durr officiating. Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5-7 p.m.
