Julia Ann “Julie” Barbee, a long-time resident of the McArthur area, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Mercy West Hospital, Cincinnati, OH, preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Donald E. Barbee, Sr.
Julia was born on March 28, 1936 to Santford and Nora Middleton Rowe, in Lucasville, Ohio and is survived by her sister Nettie Rowe Sizemore, Lucasville, OH, and brother Elijah Rowe of Chillicothe, OH.
Julie is survived by her sons Boyd Walton and Charles Walton and her daughters Rebecca Walton White, Linda Walton Califf, and Deborah Barbee Price. Julie is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Julie had an unwavering faith in God. A consummate mother and homemaker, she enjoyed doting on her grandchildren and preparing home cooked, country-style meals for her family and friends. Julie was an avid, lifelong Ohio State sports fan who also enjoyed following “her” Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Steelers on radio and television.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Sunday, February 25, 2018 in the Garrrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Jim Eberts officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.
