Julia Mae Smith

January 19, 1936 — October 22, 2019

Julia Mae Smith, 83, of Creola, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at her residence.  She was born January 19, 1936 in Sweetland, West Virginia, daughter of the late Everett and Ruby Harbar Harris.  Julia was the widow of the late Rev. Newton Kennon Smith.

She is survived by her son, Keith (Edith) Smith of Creola; daughters, Pamela (Steven) Winland of Laurelville and Kathy (Tony) Wilson of Ray; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters, Pauline Miller of West Hamilin, West Virginia and Gloria (Frank) Bellomy of Arkansas and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two infant daughters; son, Dale Smith; daughter, Ruby Jean Gannon; brother, Joe Harris and sisters, Nellie Bailey and Linda Cochran.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2019 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Bill Mahan officiating.  Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Vinton County.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
