Kathy Mcdonald

Kathy McDonald, 72, of McArthur, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.  She was born September 18, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Paul Shea and Catherine “Kate” Prantl Shea Malloy.  Kathy was married for 53 years to Mickey McDonald, who survives.

Along with her husband, she operated McDonald’s Muffler, McDonald’s West Side Motors and McDonald’s Towing.  Kathy loved traveling and dancing and previously owned Scooters Dance Hall in Beaver.  She was a member of the McArthur VFW Post #5299 and the McArthur Eagles AERIE #2279.

Kathy is survived by her son, Mark McDonald of McArthur; grandchildren, Andrew and Isaiah Hill of Jackson; great granddaughter, Zooey Hill of Jackson; brothers, Paul (Karen) Shea of Columbus and Bill (Kay) Shae of Obetz; close friends, Bill and Joe Collins of McArthur and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Alicia McDonald Hill and sister, Terri Lions.

Kathy’s wishes were to have her body donated to the Ohio University Willed Body Program in Athens, Ohio.  A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Central Elementary School, 507 Jefferson Ave., McArthur.

Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Kathy McDonald to the American Cancer Society Central Region Office-HCKG, 5555 Frantz Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43017 or the Adena Friends of Hospice Fund, Adena Health Foundation, 9 S. Paint St., Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
