Kenneth “Fuzz” T. Brooks, 61, of Zaleski, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020, at his residence. He was born March 23, 1959, in McArthur, son of James Brooks of Zaleski and the late Betty Mae Malone Brooks. Fuzz was married to Nora Murray Brooks, who survives.
He retired from Vinton County Schools as a custodian, was the former Mayor of Zaleski and was a current council member. Fuzz was in the National Guard, highly active in the community and loved children, fishing and football.
In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by his stepdaughter, Andrea (John) Coleman of Hamden; grandchildren, Leslie, Lori and Valey Coleman of Hamden; adopted granddaughter, Sierra Isaac of McArthur; sisters, Sharon Lynn (Dennis) Webb of Zaleski and Sheila (Wayne) Tinker of Zaleski and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2020, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor David Peoples officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Zaleski. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
