Kenneth Robert Kirby Jr.

Kenneth Robert Kirby Jr., 75, of Albany, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021, at his residence.  He was born September 23, 1945, in Gastonia, South Carolina, son of the late Kenneth Robert and Viola Kirby Sr.  Ken was married to Althea Miller Kirby, who survives.

He retired from the Department of Treasury as a programmer and was an avid Harley Davidson rider.  Ken was a United States Army Veteran during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Albany VFW.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth Robert Kirby III; sister, Marilyn Kirby Young; stepdaughter, Eleanor Lauraine Spencer and step grandchildren, Benjamin Ours and Makayla Ours.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his infant brother.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 7, 2021, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville.

Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
