Kenneth Vermont Newlun, 80, of Logan, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. He was born February 24, 1938 in Carbondale, Ohio, son of the late Kenneth Vermont Newlun and Ruth Elizabeth Johnson Pancake. Kenneth was married for 15 years to Deanna Jean Wiles Newlun, who survives.
He retired from the United States Air Force where he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War and was a member of Word of Restoration Church.
Kenneth is survived by his sons, Kenneth Alexander Newlun, Jerry Lee Newlun and Dale Paul Newlun; stepson, Michael (Julie) Wilson; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother, Leonard Newlun; half-brothers, John Newlun, Howard Coakley and Bob Coakley; sister, Ruth Ann Cunningham; half-sisters, Ethel Mae Wright, Betty Herron, Mary Grippi and Kay Adams and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Newlun and stepdaughter, Tammy Heyman.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the New Fairview Mausoleum in Rockbridge, with Pastor Vern Goss officiating. Military services will be held by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the Mausoleum.
