Kenneth F. Snider, 87, of Jackson, formerly of Columbus and McArthur, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at his residence. He was born April 4, 1930 in Vinton County, son of the late Walter and Nellie Arick Snider.
He retired as a Union Painter and a former member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary for 33 years. Kenneth was a Korean Conflict Army Veteran, an avid fisherman, hunter and was always gardening.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Kenneth Randall (Kayla) Snider of Jackson; daughter, Kelly (Stephen) Quin of Baltimore; grandchildren, Joseph and Jonathan (Jennifer) Simpson, Stephen Jr., Christopher and Jordan Quin, Michelle (Matt) Hammer and Bethany (Ryan) Canter; great grandchildren, Logan, Dakota and Austin Simpson, Kierstyn and Coby Hammer, Serenity Rose Quin, Harbor and Harlen Simpson, Ripley Cox and Harrison Daniels; sisters, Mary McManis of Logan and Florabelle Schneider of Vandalia; sister-in-law, Rosalie Snider of Pennsylvania and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jeanne Simpson; son, James F. Snider; granddaughter, Tina Simpson; brothers, Charles and Paul Snider; half brother, Harold Snider and sisters, Helen Dillon and Martha Ashmore.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, January 26, 2018 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with military graveside services being conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m.
