Lawrence Addington, 86, of Creola, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born May 3, 1934, in Craft Colley, Kentucky, son of the late Edgar and Nellie Hoskins Addington. Lawrence was married to the late Delsie VanHoose Addington.
He retired from Plating Technology as a truck driver, was a United States Air Force Veteran and a member of Cornelius Chapel Church in Creola.
Lawrence is survived by his sons, Ricky (Gail) Addington of Creola, Larry Addington of Logan and Joseph Addington of Portsmouth; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Richard Addington and brothers, Remus, Carl and Wana Addington.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, August 6, 2020, in the McArthur Free Will Baptist Church, 408 W. Main St., McArthur, with Rev. Jerry Griffith Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, from noon until the time of the service at the church.
Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Lawrence Addington to FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
