Lawrence Jacob Ellinger

Lawrence Jacob Ellinger, 97, of Logan, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Main Street Terrace in Lancaster. Lawrence was born December 17, 1924, in Hocking County, the son of the late Emanuel and Florence (Blum) Ellinger. He was married for 58 years to the late Waveline C. (Meyer) Ellinger.

Lawrence served in the US Army during WWII, he was inducted on May 28 ^th , 1943, and honorably discharged on January 8 ^th , 1946. He retired in 1983, after many years with the Logan Monument Company. He was well known in Logan and his favorite vacation spot for 40 years, Sebring, Florida. He loved spending time with his daughter and granddaughter. He also loved bluegrass music and fishing in Tennessee and Canada.

Lawrence is survived by his daughter, Lisa Ellinger Edmonds of Logan; granddaughter, Jamie Edmonds of Logan; brother, Merle Ellinger of Logan; nephews, Garry (Sheila) Meyer of Rockbridge and David Rauber of Logan; and many nieces and nephews.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Donald Ellinger and Paul Ellinger; and sister, Helen Rauber.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 7120 Sponagle Rd., Sugar Grove, Ohio 43155, with Rev. Danny Koch officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge with Veteran Rites by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Friends may visit at Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.

The family suggests contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 7120 Sponagle Rd, Sugar Grove, Ohio 43155 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
