Lola M. Barney, 88, of Ray, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. She was born October 10, 1932, in Pikeville, Kentucky, daughter of the late John D. and Hettie Coleman Worrix. Lola was the widow of the late Willis G. Barney.
She was a member of Allensville Christian Church.
Lola is survived by her sons, Jim (Diane) Barney of Belleville, Illinois, Nolan J. Barney of McArthur and John David Barney of Ray; daughter, Lisa Green of Ray; grandchildren, Christopher Barney, Nicole Barney, Jolene Breslawski, Andrew Barney, Courtney McCarty, Kayla Barney, Willis Barney, Andrea Green, Donny Green and Steven Green; several great grandchildren; brothers, Harold and Lonnie Worrix, both of Columbus; sisters, Polly Pierce of Wellston, Thursie Bates of Columbus, Alice Richardson of Columbus, Leah Ewald of Columbus, Loretta Bradley of West Virginia and Evelyn Worrix of Hilliard and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Steven and Rick Barney; brothers, John, William, Bradley, Arthur and Bobby Worrix and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2020, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Danny Minton officiating. Interment will be in Bell Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 10 a.m., until the time of the service.
