Maragene Marie Chesser

Maragene Marie Chesser, 79, of McArthur, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe.  She was born January 27, 1943, in Mansfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Curtis Wade Ekey and Pearl Esther (McBride) Ekey.  She was the widow of the late Bruce Eugene Chesser Sr.

Maragene was a member of the Wellston Church of God and a former Pastor for Zion Church in McArthur.

Maragene is survived by her children, Bruce Eugene (Linda) Chesser Jr. of Hamden, Pearl Remy of Columbus, Maragene (Bart) Ankrom of Allensville, Karla Speck of Virginia, and Christina (Bruce) Ray of McArthur; 23 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several brothers and sisters including, Beverly (Tom) DeMaria of Oregon; and special friends, Rhonda and Bill McKibben of Wellston.

In addition to her parents and husband, Maragene was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren; daughters, Roxann Brown and Jody Voris; and her biological parents, Elizabeth Jewell and Benjamin Redden.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 9, 2022, in the Garrett Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Barry Benson officiating.  Interment will follow in Madison Township Cemetery, Zaleski.  Friends may visit from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
