Margaret Jane Lawhead

Margaret Jane Lawhead, 72, of McArthur, passed away at her home on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Jane was born on February 20, 1952, in Albany, the daughter of the late Alvin and Vera (Sowers) Lawhead. 

Jane was a jack of all trades; greenhouse owner, worked for Vinton County Schools and Charlie Harper excavating. Jane was an active member of Calvary Assembly of God, and she loved her extended church family.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Jessi Guess of McArthur; son Kevin (Kim) Craig of Dublin; grandchildren, Lily (Zachary) Bartoe and Calvin Craig; brothers, Ed Lawhead and Tom Lawhead; and sisters, Pat LeMaster, Karen Remy, and Sue Wickline.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; lifelong companion, Charlie Harper; brother, Mike Lawhead; and her infant daughter.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St, with Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Allensville. Family and friends may visit from 3 to 6 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
