Marie Elizabeth Smith

Marie Elizabeth Smith, 72, of Chauncey, Ohio passed away at her home on Monday, February 12, 2024. Marie was born March 13, 1951, in Jackson, Ohio, to the late James Harrison Smith Sr. and Dorothy Bloom Smith.

Marie worked for 33 years at ATCO in Athens. A special thank you to all of Marie's past and present caregivers.

Marie is survived by her sister, Kathryn Kaeppner of Hilliard and sister-in-law, Kay Smith of Oak Hill.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Harrison Smith Jr.; and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Kaeppner.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Interment will be in Hamden Cemetery, Hamden. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests donations be made in memory of Marie to Ohio Health Hospice.
